A couple of notable accidents greeted Kansas City metro drivers at the start of a new work week.
In Overland Park, multiple vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in a traffic crash early Monday afternoon that closed westbound Interstate 435 in Overland Park.
The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. Monday near the Quivira Road exit.
Overland Park police said that seven vehicles were involved, according to initial reports. A number of people reported injuries, but it was not immediately known how serious those injuries were.
In Olathe, a man working on a dump truck was critically injured Monday morning when the truck was moved while he was underneath it.
Olathe police said the accident occurred about 7:30 a.m. Monday at the Lone Elm Quarry in the 1600 block of West 151st Street.
The 36-year-old man’s name was not released. The Olathe Police Department’s traffic unit is investigating. (Both reports were posted at www.kansascity.com.)
