School bus rolls over during crash near Truman Sports Complex; minor injuries reported
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A school bus with students aboard rolled over during a crash about 7:50 a.m. Thursday at Raytown Road and Blue Ridge Cutoff near the Truman Sports Complex.
Two adults and two children were aboard the bus when it crashed.
Only minor injuries were reported. The driver and bus monitor were taken to a hospital and two children on board were shaken up, but not hurt. Everyone is expected to be OK, police said.
There was an initial concern because a power line that fell during the crash arced and started a small fire.
The bus crashed into a utility pole and slid off the road when it hit a slick spot on northbound Blue Ridge Cutoff, authorities said.
Northbound traffic was diverted while fire crews put down absorbent to clean up spilled fuel. (This story was posted at www.kansascity.com.)
