There is a Pokemon GO car wreck epidemic sweeping the nation. The augmented reality game, Pokemon GO, has only been available for a few weeks and it is already causing legal issues for players all over. A 15-year-old girl from Pennsylvania was struck by a vehicle as she was crossing a highway playing the game. The girl is expected to live but suffered serious injuries. Two law enforcement officers in Canada were injured when their patrol car was backed into. Two individuals exited the car and apologized while admitting that they were playing Pokemon GO.

Last week, it was reported that a rare Pokemon, “Vaporeon”, was spotted in NYC near Central Park. Hundreds of people flocked to the area to attempt to catch it. Videos of the event showed a driver leaving their car parked on the road. Numerous law enforcement agencies have issued public safety announcements warning about the dangers of playing the game while driving.
