Reports of Sexual Assault Have Risen Against Massage Envy - The Shocking Truth

A disturbing news article has revealed that more than 180 women have been sexually assaulted at Massage Envy locations across the United States. Statistics show that there may be many more who have not reported their abuse. Our firm fights on behalf of those who have been taken advantage of and injured by someone else. We are shocked by the reports, and are here to help victims pursue justice and hold accountable everyone involved to make sure this stops happening.

The Reports of Sexual Molestation

People generally let their guard down while getting a massage. They trust the massage therapist to be professional and effective. However, nearly 200 women have reported being sexually assaulted while getting massages at multiple Massage Envy locations. The reports stated that male massage therapists stuck their fingers into women’s vaginas, groped their breasts, touched their genitals, and committed other sexually explicit actions on women during massage sessions.

Massage Envy’s Response

While Massage Envy claims that it has a strict hiring and screening process, as well as a “zero-tolerance” policy to protect clients, it seems that its main goal is to protect itself. It fails to provide clear guidance to its management as to how to conduct an internal investigation, or when to alert the proper authorities. In addition, for many of the women who reported sexual assault, the managers and franchise owners failed to act quickly or even address the issue. Instead, they ignored the reports, failed to conduct internal investigations or alert police, and in one case, let a massage therapist who had sexually abused a client continue a session with another client immediately after. The company is now facing several lawsuits by victims of sexual assault.
